Turso Pricing 2026: Free Plan, Developer and Scaler Costs
Turso pricing 2026: free for 5 GB, 100 databases and 500M row reads a month, then Developer $5.99/mo, Scaler $29, Pro $499. Overage math and Supabase news.
Turso is free for 100 databases, 5 GB of storage, 500 million rows read and 10 million rows written a month. Paid plans cost $5.99 a month for Developer, $29 for Scaler and $499 for Pro on monthly billing ($4.99, $24.92 and $416.58 a month billed yearly), each with usage allowances and per-unit overage[1].
Because Turso bills storage and rows instead of compute, an idle database costs only its storage. In October 2026 Turso announced it is joining Supabase; pricing is unchanged so far[2]. Prices verified on turso.tech on 2026-10-11.
Turso runs SQLite-compatible databases in the cloud, priced on storage, rows read, rows written and embedded-replica syncs. The plan table is detailed, so the useful question is which plan is cheapest for your workload once overage is included. This page answers it for three workloads. For Turso against PlanetScale and Neon, see Turso vs PlanetScale vs Neon pricing.
1. Turso plans and prices
| Plan | Monthly / yearly | Storage | Rows read | Rows written | Syncs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 5 GB | 500 million | 10 million | 3 GB[1] |
| Developer | $5.99 / $4.99 | 9 GB + $0.75/GB | 2.5B + $1/B | 25M + $1/M | 10 GB + $0.35/GB[1] |
| Scaler | $29 / $24.92 | 24 GB + $0.50/GB | 100B + $0.80/B | 100M + $0.80/M | 24 GB + $0.25/GB[1] |
| Pro | $499 / $416.58 | 50 GB + $0.45/GB | 250B + $0.75/B | 250M + $0.75/M | 100 GB + $0.15/GB[1] |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom limits, BYOC deployment, 24x7 support[1] | |||
Above the free plan, databases are unlimited. Features step up by plan: point-in-time restore runs 1 day on Free, 10 on Developer, 30 on Scaler and 90 on Pro; Scaler adds teams, IP and VPC allow lists and a DPA; Pro adds SSO, BYOK encryption, HIPAA and SOC 2[1].
2. The free plan
The free plan is generous for a side project: 100 databases, 5 GB, 500 million row reads, 10 million row writes and 3 GB of syncs a month, with 1 day of point-in-time restore[1]. Row reads are the limit most apps hit first, because a single unindexed query can scan thousands of rows. Add indexes before you upgrade.
3. What does Turso cost at three workloads?
Monthly cost on each paid plan, computed from the published allowances and overage rates (monthly billing, syncs within allowance)[1]:
| Workload | Free? | Developer | Scaler | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Side project: 2 GB, 300M reads, 5M writes | Fits the free plan | $5.99 | $29.00 | $499.00 |
| Growing app: 12 GB, 4B reads, 40M writes | No | $24.74 | $29.00 | $499.00 |
| Busy app: 40 GB, 150B reads, 150M writes | No | $301.74 | $117.00 | $499.00 |
The middle row is the trap: on Developer, the growing app pays $24.74 once 15 million extra writes, 1.5 billion extra reads and 3 GB of extra storage are added, which is close to Scaler's flat $29 with far larger allowances. For the busy app, Scaler with overage ($117.00) is still far below Pro's $499 base. Compare the totals, not the base prices.
4. How Turso bills usage
- No compute line. Plans include storage, rows read, rows written and sync allowances; idle databases cost only storage[1].
- Overage is opt-in. Extra usage beyond the plan is billed automatically once overages are enabled, at per-unit rates that fall on bigger plans[1].
- Branching and restores are free of usage cost. Point-in-time restore and database branching do not add usage charges[1].
- Billing date. Paid plans are billed on the first day of each month[1].
5. What changed in 2026
On October 2, 2026, Turso announced it is being acquired by Supabase. Turso says its platform keeps running, databases, APIs and workflows continue as they are, Turso Database stays open source, and a path into standard Postgres through Supabase will follow[2]. The pricing page on 2026-10-11 lists the same plans and rates as above[1]. Expect closer integration with Supabase over the coming months and re-check pricing before signing an annual plan.
6. Which plan to pick
- Side project or prototype: Free, as long as reads stay under 500 million a month.
- One production app with modest traffic: Developer at $5.99, but watch writes; above roughly 25 million a month, Scaler's allowances usually win.
- Many databases or a team: Scaler at $29 adds teams and much larger allowances.
- Compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, SSO): Pro at $499.

Frequently asked questions
Is Turso free?
Yes. Turso's free plan includes 100 databases, 5 GB of storage, 500 million rows read, 10 million rows written and 3 GB of syncs a month, with 1 day of point-in-time restore and community support, and no credit card. Verified on turso.tech/pricing on 2026-10-11.
How much is Turso Developer?
Developer costs $5.99 a month, or $4.99 a month billed yearly. It includes unlimited databases, 9 GB of storage, 2.5 billion rows read, 25 million rows written and 10 GB of syncs, with overage at $0.75 per GB, $1 per billion reads, $1 per million writes and $0.35 per GB of syncs.
What does Supabase acquiring Turso mean for pricing?
Turso announced on October 2, 2026 that it is being acquired by Supabase. It says the Turso platform, APIs and open-source database continue and that a path into standard Postgres on Supabase will follow. The pricing page on 2026-10-11 still lists the same Free, Developer, Scaler and Pro plans.
Does Turso charge for idle databases?
Only for storage. Turso bills storage, rows read, rows written and syncs, with no separate compute charge, so a database nobody queries costs its storage alone. Point-in-time restore and database branching do not add usage cost.
